Recharge Your Batteries in Gapyeong
Gapyeong is perfect for a holiday to escape from a heavy workload! Located on the very edge of South Korea, you can enjoy fresh air surrounded by nature and experience diverse unique and fun amenities. I also had a wonderful summer escape to Gapyeong and really want to share my delightful experience of three days of the Gapyeong trip!
Petite France
It is kind of funny to find the European vibe in Korea but the place is worth visiting. I have never been to Europe but I sort of experienced a wealth of French mood. In Petite France, you can experience various French cultures and collections through the traditional French house, Antique shop, Dollhouse, and Oregon house. This place is also inspired by an eminent French novel, “The little prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupery, so you can enjoy the world of the book that has been presented in various forms. In addition, it is well known for the filming location of famous K-dramas, "Beethoven Virus (2008)" "Secret Garden (2011)" and "My Love from the stars (2014)". If you are a big fan of K-dramas and want to experience an adorable French cultural village, it is a perfect place!
*Petite France also boasts its fascinating view during Christmas with snow and colorful light which has inspired our first Advent Calendar!
Barge
If you need a new kind of water activity to spend the best summer vacation, Gapyeong would be your new favorite leisure destination. In Gapeyeong, “Barge” is a popular water park that is tuned in to the taste of young and old alike. Barge contains various extreme activities, playgrounds for all ages! All you need to do is just wear a life jacket and helmet and grab a handle really tight!
Pension and valley
After spending time in the barge, you may want to take a rest. In Gapyeong’s pension, you can enjoy a unique structure that perfectly suits your holiday needs. There are many two-storied pensions with various forms. I went to the two-stored pension which has an amazing spa bath area on the second floor and an adorable barbeque place on the first floor. It will be a memorable experience since we usually don’t have a place for a spa or barbeque inside our own house.
Another advantage of accommodations in Gapyeong is that most of them have small valleys near them. You can place the mat in an appropriate site near the stream and enjoy a picnic with fresh air. I highly recommend reserving accommodation that is located near the valley so that you can spend a relaxing time by dipping your feet into the cool stream with your besties or family! * Of course, not recommended in winter enjoy your barbeque instead 😁
